Talk about cold-hearted (but really well done!) The story, acting, music, vocals, and editing are fab; they collectively draw you in right from the very first shot. I got an Annie Wilkes vibe from the female taxidermist, and the poor sap with a death wish was a reminder of the extent of loneliness in the world. How sad that instead of choosing love they both chose death (in different forms.) Finally, how weird that another short-form dramatic opera offering appears this year after “Annette?” Maybe that vocal genre really is making a comeback!
