Wow. That was disappointing. I get that the film is only 13 minutes long, but the curious premise never evolved beyond Old Salty’s fetish for a crustacean companion who both ended up living and dying miserably. My idea for a perfect ending? The old coot getting skewered by a flying swordfish moments after watching Lobsterina sink into the depths, then following her overboard, CATERWAULING all the way. Kevin Smith’s “Tusk” draws on a similar theme, and while imperfect, at least you got an aftermath. Nicely shot, though. I give it 2.5 sardines.
