“Afterlife” is a dreamlike interpretation of what happens during death. While sharing the same topic as “The Art of Drowning“, “Afterlife” contains a meditative soundtrack instead of dialog, and promotes the idea of quickly revisiting life experiences just before passing away.

SATURDAY SHORT: THE FANTASTIC ADVENTURES OF CLOUDMAN (2010)
One aspect of Phoebe Parsons’ work is its tendency to skip from different animation styles to live-action. “The Fantastic Adventures of Cloudman” is no exception. In its thirteen-minute length, no one animation style prevails. Even the live-action sequences are spiced up with fireworks, Styrofoam, paper-mache, and sometimes even animation, making them vary considerably.

SATURDAY SHORT: GUNS, BEER, AND DEMONS (2009)
Amateur acting, low-budget special effects, and an post-apocalyptic plot? Yeah, it’s got all of that. Although it will likely draw mixed reviews, we find this short oddly fascinating.
SATURDAY SHORT: DAVID LYNCH SIGNATURE CUP COFFEE (2011)
That’s right, David Lynch has his own brand of coffee, and this product would not be complete without an add by Lynch himself to promote it. Needless to say, it’s unlike any commercial you will see broadcast on television. Rather, it seems to mock the unrealistically positive advertising plots that we’re accustomed to.
SATURDAY SHORT: DADA (2008)
In this short, two brothers attempt to steal a piece of artwork that was lost to a rich philistine who continually outbids them out of sheer spite. Predictably, stealing a shovel from an oaf proves to be much more difficult than candy from a baby.
