Please do not ask “what was that movie?” questions on this page. We set up an entire site here to answer those questions. This page is for suggesting movies to be reviewed.
Know a weird movie? Something strange that glued you to the screen with awe, amazement or reverence, while your more mundane minded friends left the room (or theater) in boredom, confusion or disgust? A movie whose omission from a list of the 366 weirdest movies of all time would offend you on a personal level? Something even I haven’t heard of or considered? There are potentially thousands of forgotten films, critically dismissed films, foreign or independent films that never got a proper release, or misplaced oddities hiding out there that may deserve a place at the table. One man can’t be expected to track them all down. Here is the place to mention those treasured curios that no one else seems to have even heard of. Nominate a movie in the suggestion box and I’ll move it up on my review queue, or at the very least, explain why I’m not going to review it.
NOTICE: The “Suggest of Weird Movie!” feature has become a victim of its own success. At the time of this update, we have about 250 reader suggestions (!) in queue. (More than that since I last updated the page)! Since we can only do 1 or maybe 2 reviews a week, be aware there may be a huge delay—currently, possibly over a year!—between the time you make a suggestion and the point at which it’s actually reviewed. I considered shutting down the suggestion box as of 2011, but I decided to let you keep your suggestions coming (if nothing else, it tells us what types of movies readers are interested in seeing reviews of). Just be aware that when you make a suggestion, it may not receive the promptest of attention. The best you can really hope for at this point is to bring something to our attention that we might have overlooked. (Also note that although we prioritize the earliest nominations later suggestions may get reviewed before earlier ones if they receive a re-release on DVD or Blu-ray, or interest us for our own inscrutable reasons).
If you can’t wait for one of our staff to review your movie, why not review it yourself and submit it to us via the contact form? We can’t swear we’ll publish every submission we receive, but we want reader participation and we are fairly liberal.
All serious suggestions will receive a response, as well as all most non-serious ones.

What a fantastic resource has been created here! I’ve never come across a community, online or otherwise, in which there was such a synchronicity with my own weekly film nights with friends. 99% of our favourites are either on the list or mentioned somewhere on the site but I’d like to suggest one I couldn’t find reference to: Věra Chytilová’s follow up to ‘Daises’, 1969’s ‘The Fruit of Paradise’ (‘Ovoce Stromu Rajských Jíme’). A beautiful, woozy, cheeky, dream fable. Keep up the good work and thank you for introducing me to some new ones. Cheers!

If you’re taking Channel 366 recommendations now… TV doesn’t get much weirder than Robert Ashley’s Perfect Lives and Xavier: Renegade Angel.
Sure, we can add Perfect Lives to the queue. At 3 hours it’s essentially a long TV movie (I’m not sure if it was originally broadcast in episodes or as a whole). We’ve always covered some TV, and with the List now completed and cinema’s landscape shifting towards streaming, we’ll probably do more and more in the coming years.
Hi there, I’m following your site more than eight years now and I gotta say that my best movies list has been filled out with movie’s from your suggestions. Not to mention our movie night’s which turned out with more strange emotions thanks to you. Now, I’ve watched a movie last night called:Creep(2014).A horror and a bit disturbing footage movie about a stalker. Thing is that there is no horror image or blood or something like it and the main surreal/scary scene (close to the end) is taking place in mid day at a usual park. I was so certain that I would read an extended critic review about it in your site but I found nothing. I know there are so many movies for you to check them out but consider to add this too to your watching list. Thanks in advance.

What’s the “etiquette” in the readers suggestions thread in regards to posting links? Would be great to post links to trailers etc when recommending something as opposed to just writing the name of the recommendation.
Is there a limit to posting links? Obviously no links that are illegal/piracy but some are a bit more uncertain. Say for example in regards to Food Party.
Food Party has a bunch of full episodes shared on youtube. As it started out as a web series and given the content, obscurity and nature of the show I get the feeling that the creators involved wouldn’t mind them being there but the IP lawyers etc probably feel otherwise. So is sharing a link to a full episode of something like that a no no?
I only see it as giving further exposure to a wonderfully creative show. Its not like its some popular big budget series.
First, a practical note: if you post more than two links in a comment it’s likely that our anti-spam service will flag it and the comment could be lost.
Second, your instincts are pretty good here. Trailers or official promotional clips are always OK to post, pirate links are never OK to post. As far as anything else goes: generally, if it’s up on YouTube or Vimeo, it’s OK to post, unless it’s a screamingly obvious copyright violation of something that’s available for sale elsewhere. Just use common sense.

It’s a really, really amazingly weird, and heartfelt show from Vancouver Canada. I’ve been to a bunch of their shows live and it’s always a good time where you never know what you’re going to get as anything can happen and it pretty much always goes off the rails. It ranges from them doing an entire show high on magic mushrooms to seeing a guy sing while pouring milk all over himself to crazy Christmas shenanigans. It has awesome comedy and a sense of energy about it that you can’t easily replicate.
I thought I suggest it as even if you don’t end up reviewing it for the website it’s just a really entertaining and heartfelt show to watch with a lot of zany off the wall humor.

I didn’t see 1980 The Lathe of Heaven. Excellent movie on the book by Ursula Le Guin. Thought provoking and weird and well done for a public television production.

I’m kind of shocked that no one seems to have suggested Best F(r)iends (Volumes 1 & 2) yet. They’re the follow-up to The Room, and SO much weirder.
When I first saw the first volume I went home and wrote that if it was a 10/10 for weirdness I wasn’t even comfortable calling Eraserhead a 9, because at least Eraserhead is internally consistent. It also miraculously cured my mental illness for a week. Still not sure why.

Has Nicolas Roeg’s The Witches been suggested before? That film feels like the amalgamation of everything that is weird and demented about Roald Dahl. I think if anything it should be discussed.
As much as I don’t think this movie is good, Monkeybone by Henry Sellick should be on the list. It’s a movie that feels tinkered with by the studio, but the imagery, especially in the Down Town segments are stuff I haven’t seen many studio films done before or after.

I’m not sure if it’s been suggested yet, but I feel the farcical, insanity of Freddy Got Fingered is at least worth a look.

Ah, well, we reviewed Valhalla Rising years ago and made it a List Candidate, though it didn’t make the List of 366. As for The Witches of Eastwick—sorry, I just don’t see it as weird. Maybe if others backed it we’d consider it. Thanks for the suggestions!
