Just saw “Hot Spot” – it’s worth checking out on the big screen! Low-budget near-future sci-fi with big concepts and cool visuals. Why the bad reviews? It’s pure arthouse – not mainstream, and some of the actors’ phonetically-learned English is incomprehensible (the theatre had the closed captions on for this screening and it was often necessary). Weirdness level? I would say less than Divinity but more than Crimes Of The Future.
